As the 5-year mark rounded the corner, I crawled, barely breathing (literally), into 2017 as a sleep-deprived, anxiety-ridden, full-blown depressed, friendless workaholic. Picture a character from Gladiator…I was unrecognizable— covered in dirt and sweat, bones were broken, and I was bleeding out. In reality, I needed an inhaler to fall asleep; I would go days without a valuable conversation with my husband; my body was in constant fight or flight mode causing frequent heart palpitations, and friends? What are those?

Just a few weeks into 2017, my heart episodes were more frequent, the inhaler wasn’t working, and my marriage was quickly unraveling. My mind and my emotional heart were on life support, and my body wasn’t far behind.

I was at a crossroads. No, I was at rock effing bottom.

I needed a Revival.

I believe I have a responsibility to be a good steward of my business, my marriage, and my relationships, and I quickly realized I couldn’t do that without being a good steward of my health—mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Thus, my Revīval began, and my journey to properly managing stress, growing a business, and being human again was full steam ahead. I’ve been on that journey the last 2 and a half years to repair the aggressive and very real effect that stress has had on my mind and my body.

As new, hopeful light continues to break the horizon in my own health, I’ve started sharing my story. I’ve received resounding “me too’s” and realized so many women are in the middle of my 2016-2017. So, I’m doing something about it.

I created Revīv Retreats for other successful, overwhelmed small business owners, because, well, sometimes ya just need a damn break. My dream is to create an experience for women who need a restart where they find healing and restoration, and are given the tools to thrive, not just survive.

Because rest isn’t just a luxury, it’s a necessary part of daily life.

When I went full time with my business in 2012, I honestly felt the only way I would ever be a success story was to do everything myself (sound like you?)
